Listening to a story told is like reading your own mind.
Threading a necklace of words
Opening a window
An explosion of pictures
Flying through time
From the far corners of the earth.
Listeners and teller
Together conjuring a story into life
A human
vehicle for communication
without the use of a single solitary thing!
Georgiana caught storytelling from her mum.
Early in the eighties she realised what an inheritance this was, and the fun of passing it on. She worked with Ben Haggarty, and Tuup in the West London Storytelling Unit, and then joined Ben, Hugh Lupton and Pomme Clayton in the Company of Storytellers. After starting a family she ran 'The Storytelling Nursery' for 7 years, and has also worked in television, directing and consulting for documentaries for amongst others BBC2. Since coming to Norway in 1997 she has been teaching storytelling at university level at Høyskolen i Oslo, and has responsability for the decentralised course in Stavanger and Drammen. She directed storytelling performances 'Mossa' and 'Scar' for Fabellatores, with over 300 performances, - and was director for Norsk Fortellerforum Festival 2000, and was director for storytelling at Festspillene in Bergen 2001 and 2002. She founded Fortellerhuset spring 2003
